QUOTE OF THE DAY (OR MORE): "No, no. You don't understand. This is an '89 Calico. I'm pretty sure that exceeds the Kelly Blue Book value. The cat's totaled." --A comedian whose name I forget talking about a vet who presents a $3,000 bill for a 12-year-old cat

Caution: homework may be hazardous

Scene: Sitting in the car on the driveway at home with the 13-year-old, waiting for the 11-year-old to come out and get in so we can drive to school.
13-year-old: (aghast) Ya know, I just realized I haven't watched tv in, like, a month!
me: (delighted) Well that's good!
13-year-old: (disgusted that homework and sports have kept him from tv) No it's not. I feel like my brain is turning to mush!

  1. LOL. My 8 year old told us in the car the other day he hadn't laughed all day; and he really needed to laugh. This after the rest of the fam had been laughing quite a bit that day. Guess he didn't get the earlier jokes.

    :)

ps. Love your T.V. Is that Black and White or Color?

  2. Yeah. I hate it when stuff like that gets in the way of real life. ;-)

  5. Oh mercy, I know how he feels. I moved from a very pro-TV home into a house with two new roommates who NEVER watch their 20 channels of basic.

They think I'm nuts and wasting my life. I wouldn't have it any other way.

  6. And you didn't have to make him do that. Wow, he must be busy. Hope all is well in marathon land! Sorry I haven't stopped by in a while.
